Rumours about Rumer

There aren't many moments in life when you hear music that moves you profoundly, but listening to Rumer on Later Live with Jools Holland last night resulted in that emotion. That spine tingling feeling where music resonates deeply within your soul, where you appreciate that someone, somewhere else is expressing a feeling or emotion that you have experienced. I don't mean to sound fluffy or romantic but I had one of those moments last night listening to Rumer. And apparently I'm not the only person to be emotionally hijacked, the gruff northerner John Prescott also had a fluffy moment. As a result of a tweet, The Guardian asked him to blog about Rumer. Here is part of his article from the Guardian website today:

know very little of Rumer. In fact it was only by chance that I came across her on Later ... with Jools Holland on BBC2 last night. She sang only one song but it moved me – right back to the 70s and the days of eight-track cartridges playing the likes of Karen Carpenter and Carole King.

She reminds me a lot of both singers, especially Karen. Like Billie Holiday, there was real sadness and longing in
her voice as she sang Slow – a song about a woman having to suppress her emotions for fear of putting off a man.
What's more remarkable is her backstory. Rumer is no overnight sensation or X Factor wannabe.
She has grafted in part-time and dead-end jobs for more than 10 years to keep her dream alive.
If Slow is anything to go by, that struggle was not in vain and she's finally going to get the success she thoroughly deserves.
Burt Bacharach and Elton John have already become firm fans. Well, you can add me to that list. And I think you'll be next.

Extract from Guardian Music Blog:
Needless to say, I've downloaded the EP today, ordered the new album out end of November and bought tickets to the gig. It never fails to amaze me that when music is excellent in every way, it sells itself and this artist is no exception. I look forward to the whole album on its release and hearing more from the wonderful Rumer.

Video casting Summer 2010

A new area of work that Love Live Music has become involved in this year is Pop Videos.
Working with @LeanneFlinn and Partizan we have helped cast the following videos.
The most successful video in terms of chart position has been X Factor contestant Olly Murs. Olly reached number one in the UK charts with his first single "Please don't let me go"

The video filmed in Surrey starred Papa J as a crowd extra. Interestingly he plays sax in the end party scenes and despite the fact there is no sax in the video, the record company decided to keep him in as an older party animal.

This summer we also cast for Richard Ashcroft from the Verve for his anthemic tune Born Again.
All the string players were supplied by Love Live Music and one of the singers. The video was filmed in Airstudios and a long and happy day was had by all.

The latest video that we have been working on is a Plan B video - Recluse. Plan B's album The Defamation of Strickland Banks has created filmic videos and this is number 4 in the series. Strickland Banks is now in prison for a crime he didn't commit, struggling with prison life and finds himself becoming reclusive once outside in the big world. Fantastic production by Partizan and congratulations to Colin Clark on cello for his first video for Love Live Music. Plan B Recluse out October 4th 2010

Good Afternoon from Love Live Music in London

Good afternoon music lovers, I am going to give this blogging thing a go and hope that you like it. I would be interested in your feedback especially the bits that you find interesting and helpful.

Love Live Music specialises in Digital Marketing and PR for artists with the main goal of helping artists to make money from their songs and live music events. It's simpler than you think but sometimes it's great to get help along the way and put in place those things that are required so you can make a good living from being a musician. Love Live Music will point you in the right direction and put in place those things that are required to get the pounds and dollars flowing into your bank account.

We work with many corporate and private clients that want the best live music for their events and have a huge address book of artists from classical musicians to pop divas to opera stars to deliver that for you. In the next few weeks I will send you links and Youtube performances of some of the best.
I will write profiles on all the artists Love Live Music works with and the in and outs about getting good PR for artists, what's required and the fun of getting results.

In the past year Love Live Music has also had the privilege to be involved with casting for Pop Videos. Artists in the past 6 months include Richard Ashcroft, Plan B and Olly Murs. Olly Murs was number one in last weeks official charts so we were so pleased to be involved with a number one tune and video. Many congratulations to the Love Live Music artists and especially Papa J who had a special cameo playing the saxophone in the video. In all reality there is no saxophone in the Olly Murs video but the director and record company were so taken by Papa J as he improvised at the late night party, they left his scene in the video - many congratulations Papa J!

Here is the Olly Murs video for your delight and delectation...1.5 million hits so far... not bad...
